                             My personal thoughts:
At first i wasn't sure about this book. Most health and diet books i have read in the past have been boring and hard to understand. Haylie really breaks everything down and explains why we need to eat this and stay away from that. (I will never eat wheat and corn again! )
This isn't your normal restricted, calorie counting diet. You are given the do's and dont's, a list of foods you can eat as well as recipes and also a map of what your meals should look like for each phase (and what exercises too!) . She is really positive and motivating throughout the book. I love when she said that DIET stands for: Did i eat today as in:
Did i eat every three to four hours?
Did i eat within half hour of waking today?
Did i eat according to my phase today?
Did i eat enough complex carbohydrates?

I see dieting a whole new way now and I'm happy i was given this experience by shespeaks to be one of the first to read it.

Hello! I have been Mia for a while and I do apologize. I have had some things happen in my family and I needed to take a break from somethings but now I'm back.

I received this book complimentary from she speaks. I have already started reading it and I plan to start shopping for my food next week. I will be back with my review and thoughts. I might write a post when I'm halfway through the book.

feb update!

Hello!!
I am sorry I haven't been updating everyday like I planned to do. I was actually blogging last week or the week before? ( I cant remember I've been so busy!) My son ended up getting sick and throwing up and once he was over that I had to pick him up from school because he had a bad stomach bug then I was sick. So here i am now.
Ive actually lost 5 pounds since i started my work outs which I'm so happy ! :)

Some NSV's from this week that i want to share:
1. Saturday i made 2 dozen cupcakes. I ate two then gave away the rest.
2. Today i made some blueberry and triple berry muffins. I tried one of each for breakfast and gave away the rest.

Day 6: TAKE THAT!!!

Today I woke up sleepy with a sore throat and lacking motivation. After taking my son to school I said ok just do it get it over with.
After the lunges in my work out I start to enjoy it lol I hate lunges! :/ haha.
then after my workout it was so pretty out I decided to jog/walk a mile. It hurt but felt good to be doing it. I will say it's hard breaking through your mental barriers. When I would hear that voice say "give up it hurts, I'm tired"

I would think to myself shut up b•Tch you can do this! Does that make me crazy? Lol!

Day 5: uh oh...

Today is day 5 and I didn't exercise :/ it was storming really bad with flooding. My hubby drug me out in this mess to look for an AC window unit,.ours broke!

If you live in TX you know what a scary situation this is lol!

 I did find my polar ft4 watch at academy I want it so bad! It monitors your heart and tells you how many calories you burn.

 oh! I said no to fast food today, ugh it killed me but I did it. Hubby asked me three times. Gosh I wanted McDonalds French fries and double cheese burger so bad! Mmmm :D

Day 4: I still made it!! (1-8-13)

It's been raining like crazy here! So you know what that means.... Lazy, lazy, sleepy day for me even my cat was laying with me.

 I kept saying oh ill take a day off but then I was like no! Get up and do it!
 



 

 I am happy that I stuck to my plan.

Day 3: Feeling Great!! (1-7-13)

This is day three of healthy eating,water only and my biggest loser DVD.

I still need to work on my balance and planks kick my ass Lol!

Day 2:Balance (1-6-13)

Today is day two of my workout journey. Balance is such a difficult thing for me! Those who know me know that i am the most UN-balanced (is that even a word?) person! Seriously i cannot walk with out tripping,falling or running into something! ha ha

So today's struggle was balance with my lunges and Cris-cross squats ( I don't know the proper name. You Cris cross your legs one in front one in back and squat holding your weights out to your side) Yes, i make up my own names for things when I cant remember :) These things kick my butt!

Also I found a really good recipe on pinterest for apples.



Today I would like to introduce you to the most awesome raw apple snack ever. First a disclaimer, I am not liable if you decide to eat this apple snack every day for the rest of your life. A huge bowl of this apple snack was eaten by a group in minutes – it really is that good. And the best part? It takes only 3 fruits and 2 minutes prep to make

What’s even better about this snack is the healthy nutrition! You are eating a full apple plus the amazing juice of an orange and lemon. Think of the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and most of all…think of the children! This is a perfect after-school snack because it takes a minute to make and will give the kids an energy boost to do their homework and exercise

Raw Apple Snack

Raw Apple Snack Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1-2 apples – select a sweet apple like Fuji or Gala (I used Fuji)
  • 1 medium orange
  • 1 medium lemon
Prep:
  • Juice lemon and orange into a small bowl
  • Slice the apple into thin slices (see image below)
  • Place slices into juice bowl and make sure the juice is all over the apple slices
  • Place bowl in fridge for 30minutes-2 hours
Remove from fridge, serve and enjoy! Warning: contents are addicting!
Optional: you can use a green apple in place of one of the other apples to give the plate some contrast for your guests. The green apples (e.g. granny smith) will make the snack even more tart and should explode of awesomeness when you and your guests enjoy!

Hello!  So.. where have I been? .... Where do I start? Last year was crazy!!! My son started school for the first time (kindergarten) We were sick continuously up until Christmas. I guess we weren't use to being exposed to so many germs.



I have been back on track eating healthy and recently started working out. I did forget to blog about my progress because  have been tracking my journey through a web site I am a mod for.

I will be posting my  past journals onto here then ill update daily (hopefully) maybe Ill even share some healthy recipes also.
